It is with these photographs that I pay tribute to blues legend B.B. King who passed away May 14, 2015 in his Las Vegas home after entering hospice care for a prolonged illness at the age of 89.
One of B.B. King’s last northwest concert performances at the Maryhill Winery Amphitheater in Goldendale,Washington, July 5, 2008, a memorable moment for me, the opportunity to photograph one of the greatest blues guitarist of our time. I recall his genuine way of connecting with the audience through colorful stories interjected between songs. Stories from his youth, of black segregation in the south. He will be most remembered for the velvety voice and passionate poignant guitar solos that came from his signature guitar Gibson ES335 named Lucille.
At one moment from the press area I blew him a kiss from behind my telephoto lens catching him by surprise. Thank you for gracing us with your music.
